Advanced Instructor Endorsements.
In 2016 becoming an Advanced instructor has changed. It is now a 4 day course that covers all courses in the Advanced syllabus.
Three of the courses in this section of the the syllabus have been re written, simplified and merged to reflect the needs of the sailor at this level.
The courses are now Advanced boat handling , Start Racing, Kites& Wires and Adventure.
To be considered for the course you need to be a qualified SBSS Instructor with 20 days experience, complete a personal sailing CV, an instructor log, have instructed on Improving Skills courses and complete a background knowledge paper and hold a Safety Boat Certificate. .All this information is submitted to an ISA Sail Trainer for consideration before doing the course. The course will cover the advanced syllabus across Kites & Wires, Adventure, Start Racing and Advanced Boat Handling Skills.
Successful completion of the course will lead to an Advanced Dinghy instructor Certificate and the instructor can instruct on all courses in the scheme, valid for 5 years.
